To clean solid mahogany flooring, starting with remove all dirt, dust and debris from your mahogany floor. Sweep thoroughly before wet cleaning. If necessary, use a vacuum cleaner with a soft brush to remove dirt, dust and debris from under furniture and other difficult to reach places. Use a dustbin daily to remove fine particles and prevent them from dulling the finish on the floor. After that, mix 1 qt. of hot water and a qt. of undiluted vinegar in a mop bucket.
Lower your mop into the solution and swish it around to mix the two ingredients. Turn the mop out, so it is moist but not saturated. Next, mop your mahogany wood floor in small sections. Lower and twist your mop as needed. Wipe off moisture from each section with a soft cloth. Last, moisten a soft cloth with olive oil. Polish your mahogany floor in a circular motion with the cloth. Leave olive oil for about 30 minutes, wipe off excess olive oil and dry the floor to a rail with a dry, lint-free cloth.
